Purpose

The purpose of my shoot is to show how beautiful Doncaster is. My style of photography is a abstract photos, I take photos to show my lifestyle and the things I get up to. The objective of the shoot is to show how nice Doncaster looks because a lot of people think that Doncaster doesn't look nice and is all bad.

Mood Board

Plan

I plan to show the views of Doncaster in the night life and the views you can see from certain nights, this attracts the attentions of viewers and it's what the youth and what people will look at and find interesting. By taking photos of the night life and of people enjoying themselves. I will also take photos around lakeside so you can see the new builds and the nature which is by the center of Doncaster, taking photos in Doncaster town center will show the city/town side. The photos I'm going to take are gonna contain different parts all around Doncaster where it shows how interesting and beautiful Doncaster is.

Legal Constraints

Theres a few legal constraints when it comes to photography, You have Orphan works licensing scheme which helps protect a photographers income and their pictures but this can also be applied to you cause if you take a picture which is exactly the same as another there would be legal action, You also cannot take indecent photos of a child under the age of 16 or posses that image. Theres a health and safety legislation that you must comply to when you are in a studio or when your on a location.

Theres also ethical constraints. Bruce Gillman was a photographer In New York and he would jump infront of people walking and take a photo infront of them with flash on and most people would class this as being rude and unethical because people are trying to go about their day and he's jumping infront of people using his camera flash, this is something I won't be doing for my photography.

You can have release forms for photography, two of them are Model and Location release forms, these forms are a written establishment between the photographer and either the model or the Location holder to show proof that the photographer is allowed to take photos of the model and that the photographer can take photos on and in the location written on the form. There is no specific law in the UK against photographing people, even children. Photography Law means it is your right as a photographer to take a photo of whatever subject you unless it's in a location where they might reasonably expect privacy.

https://www.pauldavidsmith.co.uk/photographers-rights/

This website talks in detail about all the different factors of photography such as needing permission to take photos of children, police officers or close up photos of pedestrians. On the website it lets you know that you can take photos of children as long as they are in public places and their parents cant insist that you delete the images, but if you wanted to use the image for commercial or international use then you would need permission from any recognisable person in the image, its useful for photographers to have release forms as proof or permission to take photos of people and use them commercially, having release forms means that photographers can't get sued and the photographer will get the money from his photos. The website talks about permission on taking photos of police officers and it says "Under Section 58A, police are able to arrest someone taking photos of police offers, intelligence officers or members of the army only if they have reason to suspect that those images are being obtained to aid terrorism. If you are taking photos of police for any other reason namely, as a member of the press, for your art or simply as a tourist, you do not need permission to do so."

Overall in the UK street photography is legal as long as what you're doing is visible from public property meaning that u can take photos of private properties as long as you're in public property.

Equipment

I will be using a DSLR camera as it allows you capture exactly what your shooting so people that see the photo can see the view in a good quality. Its easy to work your way around once you’ve learnt your way

around the camera and it has a removable lens, the DSLR is a good average of the different types of camera and is useful for recording and taking photos. With many different settings the correct user is able to photograph the exact photos they need professionally, which is the reason why I'm going to use one.

I'm also planning on using multiple different lenses such as the wide lens, fisheye lens and a standard lens. A wide lens is usually used to capture city scapes which is why I plan to use one as it can add another element to the photo, A fisheye lens is an extreme wide angle lens that produces a 180° degree field of view to create panoramic or hemispherical images, the reason I want to use this lens is to try and get some odd and creative shots and I think at night you could get some good photos. I will also possible use a tri-pod as they are especially necessary when slow-speed exposures are being made, or when telephoto lenses are used, as any camera shake while the shutter is open will produce a blurred image, overall it will just help with any still shots and photos where we want to take a couple in the same spot.

Resources/Models

Resources I can use is my friends that I will be taking photos with, like if I need a certain thing moving for my shot or if I need some settings changing to help with my shot I can use them has help and take recommendations from them to improve the shot.

Reece

When I take a photo round lakeside I need to make sure I'm not getting any equipment damaged or wet, so I need to be careful that I'm not going to close to the lake so that I could fall in. I also need to make sure I put my bag firm spot so that the bag doesn't have any chance of rolling into the lake.

When I'm high up I need to make sure I'm wearing a camera strap and that I've got zip up pockets and a zip up bag this is so anything in my pockets or bag can't come out and I will definitely need a camera strap just incase I slip or need to use my hands in any circumstance.

If I'm out in town and on the street either at night or in day I need to make sure nobody can take the camera or any equipment so I should have a couple people with me to stop anybody from trying to steal anything.
